Film Subtitles

Our team has produced many subtitled versions for short films and documentary films locally for film festivals, Netflix, and other distributors and producers in Los Angeles and the Santa Barbara area.

A fun local project was creating the Japanese, Dutch, German, French, and Spanish subtitles for “What Babies Want”, an award-winning documentary specially recognized at the Boston International Film Festival, directed by D. Takikawa and narrated by actor Noah Wyle. Available on Amazon.

Addressing controversial issues such as consciousness in infants and childbirth, this emotionally-charged film makes a social statement about the importance of early development in children and its effect on both individual wellbeing and that of society at large. Our team of linguists worked thoughtfully to convey these emotions across the different languages & cultures involved, while trying to validate the subtitles within time codes.
